• Do you want us to calculate the price?
  Do you want a pro-forma invoice? Call, fax, email, or mail CoHort Software with a list of what you are considering buying and request a pro-forma invoice (a formal price quote).
• "Upgrade" - The CoStat upgrade price is for owners of any previous version of CoStat. The CoPlot upgrade is for any owner of a previous version of CoPlot or CoDraw. Please send the serial number from the original disks with your order. If you can't find the original disks, don't worry; we can look up your name in our files.
• "CoPlot" - CoPlot includes CoStat. That is why the CoPlot manual counts as two books, but the CoStat manual counts as only one book.
• "CD" - We will ship a CD for Windows unless you specifically request a CD for Mac OS X. Currently, there are no CD's for other operating systems. The CD includes Java (which is automatically installed if your computer doesn't have it), the program you ordered, and the HTML version of the manual. The CoPlot CD also includes CoStat, and all of the optional CoPlot files (the icon library, the world map data files, and the detailed U.S. map data files).
• Non-Windows/Mac OS X Operating Systems - Please download and install the trial version of CoPlot or CoStat. If that works for you, you can purchase licenses at the prices listed above. Currently, we don't offer CD's for non-Windows/Mac OS X operating systems. Sorry. We plan to officially support these other operatings systems in the near future. If you want to be notified by email when this happens, please send an email to the Linux mailing list, or tell us what other operating systems you would like to see supported.
• Customs and VAT Taxes on Shipments to Outside the U.S. - The prices above do not include customs or VAT taxes. CoHort does not pay these taxes. Customers outside the U.S. will pay these taxes when they receive the package containing the software. To avoid these taxes legally, use the "Nothing shipped" option.
• Tax Implications of "Nothing shipped" - If you select only "nothing shipped" items, we will send you a receipt by email, but nothing will be sent by regular mail. California has stated that purely electronic sales (such as this) are currently exempt from the sales tax that would normally be applied to sales to customers in California. Since nothing is sent through the mail, this method will bypass the normal methods that other governments use to collect other taxes; therefore, paying those taxes, if any, becomes your responsibility. Also, note that you can place a separate order for just the CDs and/or printed manuals at any time (including later on the same day).
• CoPlot and CoStat are free for students.
• No Academic Discount - Sorry, there is no special academic discount. Most of our sales are to academic institutions, so we tried to set one low price for everyone.
• Print Your Own Manuals? We allow you to print portions of the HTML manuals for your own use. But there are advantages to getting the offical printed manuals from CoHort Software:
  • They are printed on both sides of the paper.
  • They are nicely bound.
  • They cost the same or less than the online manuals printed on your printer.
  • Most important, they have page number references instead of hypertext links (which are useless on paper).
• U.S. Dollars - All prices are in U.S. dollars.
• Registration Numbers - With each license ("new" or "upgrade"), we send you "Your Name" and "Registration Number" which you should enter in the program's "Help : Register" dialog box. Then, you can use this version of the program (and future minor update versions) forever.
• Free Minor Updates - You can get free minor updates in the future from our web site: see the "Minor Upgrade" links at www.cohort.com. Your name and registration number will work on these minor updates (but not on the next major update).
• Larger Orders / Volume Discounts - Volume discounts are available for new licenses only (not upgrades) and don't apply to the cost of the printed manuals. Basically, the discounts are: 10% off 3 or more licenses, 20% off 5 or more, 30% off 15 or more, 40% off 30 or more, 50% off 50 or more. You can send a list of what you are considering buying to CoHort Software and request a pro-forma invoice (a formal price quote).
• Site Licenses - For sites with 15 or more users, you can now license CoPlot (which includes CoStat) for $60 per user per year (or $30 for CoStat alone). This is a really inexpensive way to get access to CoPlot and CoStat for a medium-sized or large group of users.
• No More Network Node Licenses - Sorry, that offer was for the DOS programs. Please use the volume discounts or get a site license.
• No More Reseller Discount - Sorry, the programs are only available directly from CoHort Software.
• Upgrade from CoStat 6.x to CoPlot 6.x - If you get CoStat 6.3 now, you can upgrade to CoPlot 6.x at any time in the future for $140 (plus $15 if you want the additional printed manual).
• Shipping Time - Orders in the U.S. should arrive in 3 - 4 business days. Orders from outside the U.S. should arrive in 7 - 14 business days.
